What is a SIMPDL?

A SIMPDL is an embedded Power Data Logger designed to collect data from many configurable sources for post analysis, storage, and reporting. This Power Data Logger is a hardened embedded PC that provides high level computing and networking capabilities for embedded power applications. The SIMPDL boasts many standard PC interfaces including USB, ethernet, VGA.

What type of data can be captured by the SIMPDL?

The SIMPDL can capture data from any CAN device on the CAN network, data from any ethernet device on the LAN, or data from common PC interface devices including serial, parallel, or USB.

 

How is the SIMPDL configured?

The SIMPDL is configured via a software interface from any computer. The SIMPDL can be configured to filter data, schedule collections, prioritize data, and manage storage.

 

How can I access the data quickly?

Data collected on the SIMPDL can be quickly downloaded to a USB thumb drive.

 

Is the SIMPDL as sensitive as a computer?

No! The SIMPDL is composed of only solid state components with no moving parts (hard drives or fans).

 

Can the SIMPDL connect to more than one network?

The SIMPDL was designed to communicate to a network of SIMPCUs and SIMRIOs via CAN and also to an ethernet network for higher level control. The SIMPDL can optionally be configured with other industrial wired or wireless network.
