The PMC has been designed for power management and
integration applications. With a rich embedded operating
system (Windows XPe), it can run virtually any application
especially .NET (VB, C++, C#), LabView, etc.
The PMC is a solid state controller with no moving parts
making it suitable for mobile applications.
The PMC is equipped with 512M RAM and standard Compact
Flash storage up to 16 G in capacity. Standard PC interfaces
such as keyboard, mouse, VGA, ethernet, and USB allow for
easy integration and use. However, the PMC is perfectly
capable of operating in a "headless" mode with no user
interface devices.
The PMC can provide many server based functions such
as a web server, email server, file server, print server,
etc.
Global ET supplies a wide variety of Power Management
Applications (PMA) that execute on the PMC to perform
many power management functions. The PMC is the master
controller in a configuration with many PCUs, illustrated
as follows:

With full PC functionality and high speed
networking and communication options, the PMC can
interface to many communications network,
concurrently. This could be ethernet, Controller
Area Network (CAN), wireless ethernet, USB, Zigbee,
as well as industrial networks such as Modbus,
LonWorks, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, Metasys, DH+,
Profibus, ControlNet, SNMP, etc.
Within the power and energy industry, the PMC
can communicate protocols such as IEC61850,
IEC60870, DNP3, DLMS, etc.
|
|
When networked, the PMC can serve as a
versatile gateway to common or secure networks that
require high speed communication, reliability, data
storage, and accessibility.
Due to its low power consumption, the PMC can
be deployed in the field with battery power for SCADA and data logging applications. In addition,
the PMC can be implemented onboard vehicles for
intelligent power management communication and
control functions.
With the emergence of onsite supplemental or
substitutive Distributed Energy Resources (DER), the PMC can regulate and monitor prime mover
performance, diagnostics, and efficiency. |
