How does Power Management available with SIMPMC differ?

SIMPMC is a highly configurable power management controller that is configured to manage and optimize complex systems with multiple power sources, energy storage devices, and loads, many of which lack a flexible communication interface.

What software can run on a SIMPMC?

Virtually any software that runs on a Windows XP computer can run on the SIMPMC including .NET (VB, C++, C#), LabView, Matlab, databases, etc. The SIMPMC runs an embedded lightweight version of Windows XP named Windows XPe that is configured with specific resources for a specific purpose.

Is the SIMPMC as sensitive as a computer?

No! The SIMPMC is composed of only solid state components with no moving parts (hard drives or fans).

How does the SIMPMC differ from other embedded controllers?

The SIMPMC offers rich computing capabilities of workstations and even servers. The SIMPMC could provide web serving, email serving, file serving, print serving, etc. With ethernet networking, the SIMPMC can remotely controlled and accessible from the internet.

How do I load or update software or data to or from the SIMPCU?

Since the SIMPMC can be networked, program and data files can simply be copied over the network to specific folders.

Can the SIMPMC connect to more than one network?

The SIMPMC was designed to communicate to a network of SIMPCUs via CAN and also to an ethernet network for higher level control. The SIMPMC can optionally be configured with other industrial wired or wireless network.

How much data can be stored or buffered on the SIMPMC?

Currently the SIMPMC offers up to 8G of storage on Compact Flash. Soon, 16G and 32G capacities will be available.
