How does Power Management available with SIMPMC differ?
SIMPMC is a highly configurable
power management controller that is configured to manage and
optimize complex systems with multiple power sources, energy
storage devices, and loads, many of which lack a flexible
communication interface.
What software can run on a SIMPMC?
Virtually any software that runs on a
Windows XP computer can run on the SIMPMC
including .NET (VB, C++, C#), LabView, Matlab,
databases, etc. The SIMPMC runs an embedded
lightweight version of Windows XP named Windows
XPe that is configured with specific resources
for a specific purpose.
Is the SIMPMC as sensitive as a computer?
No! The SIMPMC is composed of only solid
state components with no moving parts (hard
drives or fans).
How does the SIMPMC differ from other embedded controllers?
The SIMPMC offers rich computing
capabilities of workstations and even servers.
The SIMPMC could provide web serving, email
serving, file serving, print serving, etc. With
ethernet networking, the SIMPMC can remotely
controlled and accessible from the internet.
How do I load or update software or data to or from the SIMPCU?
Since the SIMPMC can be networked, program
and data files can simply be copied over the
network to specific folders.
Can the SIMPMC connect to more than one network?
The SIMPMC was designed to communicate to a
network of
SIMPCUs via CAN and also to an
ethernet network for higher level control. The
SIMPMC can optionally be configured with other
industrial wired or wireless network.
How much data can be stored or buffered on the SIMPMC?
Currently the SIMPMC offers up to 8G of
storage on Compact Flash. Soon, 16G and 32G
capacities will be available. |
